I started my design journey in graphic design, where I worked on communicating ideas and telling stories through visuals. Over time, I wanted to go beyond visuals and understand what the person on the other side of the screen feels and needs when they interact with what I design.

To explore that curiosity, I began taking online courses in interaction design. One video explained how something as simple as color choices can completely change the experience for someone with color blindness. That moment pulled me into the world of interaction design, where I realized that even small design decisions can create a big impact on the user’s experience.

So I took a leap and began my Master’s in Interaction Design and Information Architecture. In the program, I’ve been able to dive deeper into user research, design iterations, usability testing, and HTML/CSS coding.

Why interaction design?

According to the Chinese zodiac, I was born in the Year of the Bunny, and I also share my home with my pet bunny, Sammy. Bunnies hold a special place in my heart, and they’ve become a meaningful source of inspiration in my creative journey.

Living with Sammy has taught me that bunnies are more than their gentle, quiet appearance. They’re curious observers who pay attention to the small details. That reflects how I approach design: I listen first, observe deeply, and try to understand people before jumping into solutions.

Growing up as an Asian American has also shaped the way I see the world. Navigating different cultural perspectives taught me to notice subtle details and consider multiple viewpoints, which inspires me to design in a way that makes sure more people feel seen in the products I create.

Why bunnies?

Currently, while pursuing my Master’s in Interaction Design & Information Architecture, I’m also exploring internship and full-time opportunities in Product Design.

I’m also volunteering for IAC26, a UX and information architecture conference. I attended the conference last year and learned so much from the workshops and community so I wanted to return this year and give back as a volunteer.

When I’m not designing, you can usually find me playing badminton or recording little vlog-style clips to capture life’s small moments.
